Specialized Packaging Group (SPG), a prominent North American provider of sustainable protective packaging, has announced the opening of a new 50,000-square-foot facility in Guadalajara, Mexico. This strategic expansion is designed to meet the surging demand for specialized crate solutions within the rapidly growing artificial intelligence and data center sectors. By establishing a local presence in a major technology hub, SPG aims to provide more agile support for customers transporting sensitive, high-value equipment like AI servers, while simultaneously enhancing its manufacturing and distribution capabilities across the broader North American market.
Central to this new facility is SPG’s commitment to environmental stewardship through its innovative closed-loop recycling program. The site integrates advanced manufacturing with circular material practices, allowing packaging materials used in shipping to be recovered, recycled, and reintegrated into future production cycles. According to CEO Paul Budsworth, this investment not only strengthens the company’s ability to meet the stringent performance requirements of the high-tech industry but also helps clients achieve more responsible and efficient supply chains by significantly minimizing waste and environmental impact.
