SPG establishes new manufacturing facility in Guadalajara, Mexico

Specialized Packaging Group (SPG) has opened a new 50,000-square-foot facility in Guadalajara, Mexico to meet the rising demand for high-tech transportation solutions. The expansion is driven primarily by the rapid growth of AI infrastructure which requires specialized, secure crates for shipping sensitive server equipment. By establishing this local hub, SPG aims to improve response times for the regional technology sector while strengthening its overall capacity to provide complex packaging services throughout North America.

Beyond logistics, the new facility is a cornerstone for SPG’s sustainability goals. It supports a closed-loop recycling initiative designed to recover and reuse shipping materials from server deliveries, effectively reducing industrial waste. CEO Paul Budsworth emphasizes that this investment allows the company to balance the rigorous performance needs of the data center industry with circular material practices, enhancing both supply chain efficiency and environmental responsibility.
